You Can Now Watch Classic Filipino Movies For Free Online!

Sarung Banggi

A lot of film studios have uploaded their catalogue of titles online for people to watch during the quarantine period. The latest is filmmaker Mike de Leon, who uploaded classic Filipino movies from the 1930’s to the 1960’s.

Mike de Leon is a director known for his films Kung Mangarap Ka’t Magising, Kakabakaba Ka Ba?, Kisapmata, Batch ’81, and Sister Stella L.

The films are uploaded on the Vimeo page of Citizen Jake, Mike’s last movie.

Some of the films people can watch are Noli Me Tangere, Sarung Banggi, Miss Philippines, Malvarosa, Aguila, and more.

The films have not been restored or remastered, so audio and visual quality of the print may not be good. Some are even incomplete. But they are an excellent way to experience classic Filipino cinema and see the masterpieces directors made in the past.
