This Is What You Should Bring To Your Next Potluck

If you’ve ever wondered about the lives of celebrities – who they wear, what they do, and how they manage – then you’re not alone. We’ve thought about that, too. Today, we’re going to be letting you in on one other secret: what celebrities indulge in. The answer: good food, care of the Naked Patisserie.

The Naked Patisserie’s owner and pioneer, Christian Mark Jacobs, teaching us how he likes to prepare Naked Spreads.

You may have heard of Naked Patisserie Weddings and Events. They’ve had their hand in some of Manila’s most talked-about affairs including Julia Barretto’s Capri-themed 22nd birthday, Iza Calzado’s wedding, and more recently, Raymond Gutierrez’s “Opulence” Halloween Party.

Their cakes are at once dreamy yet classic, rich yet soulful. How do these paradoxes make sense within their menu, though? Well, it’s simple: when you get right down to it, the Naked Patisserie offers good food dressed up. Whether it be through sprinkles of edible gold glitter, handmade sugar flowers, or classic white cream; the Naked Patisserie pours as much soul into good flavor as it does into beautiful aesthetics.

Fun fact: the first Naked Cake was created specifically for Christian Mark Jacobs and fashion designer Francis Libiran’s, wedding a few years ago. The Naked Patisserie is owned and pioneered by Christian himself, who now hopes to invite everyone into his kitchen with naked creations that range from cakes to truffles to party trays to wine.

Some top picks from the Naked Patisserie include their Strawberries ‘n Cream cake, which was also named as one of the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Top 50 Desserts of the year.

My personal favorite is their Chocnut Cheesecake, which is made with a rich, chunky filling, and a crust of graham biscuits infused with Chocnut itself. This is topped off with a thick chocolate ganache and Chocnut sprinkles.

As the Naked Patisserie is owned by American born-and-raised Christian Mark Jacobs, the creation and ideation of the Chocnut Cheesecake was somewhat of a tribute to Filipino sweet tooths. The Chocnut Cheesecake also come in bite-sized pieces that’s perfect for an indulgent snack that won’t leave you feeling too guilty.

Their Chocolate Oreo Cheesecake Truffles are another bestseller, and yes, they taste as good as they sound – perfect for all of the chocoholics out there!

The Naked Patisserie doesn’t end there, either. They have so much more up their sleeve, such as Naked Spreads and Southern Roots Party Trays. For everyone throwing (or even just attending) parties this year, hear us out! Try ordering a Naked Spread to add a classic touch to your event. After all, nothing foreshadows a great party better than a beautiful spread loaded with food.

With everything ranging from strawberries to cakes to pretzels and nuts, the Naked Spread is sure to entice all your attendees to stay a little longer, and drink that extra glass of wine. It pairs so nicely with a slice of prosciutto, a nibble of salami.

For those looking for something a bit more filling, consider bringing a Southern Roots Party Tray to your next potluck. Inspired by Christian’s childhood in Georgia, USA, these party trays are more than just food; they’re someone’s life story and an invitation into their home.

If you’re the type of person who likes to spice things up a bit, try their Sriracha Honey Chicken: skinless chicken breast nuggets tossed in Sriracha Honey Sauce and spiced with red pepper. Fear not. You can order it in Mild, if Spicy is a bit too much for you.

A more indulgent choice would be their Baked Brie Mac ‘n Cheese. This includes four types of cheeses: pepper jack, sharp cheddar, parmesan, and two wheels of brie baked in the center of the pan. According to Christian, this recipe was 10 years in the making, when he first started experimenting with different combinations of cheeses.

Let’s not forget the vegetables! Roasted broccoli is always a favorite, as are sweet and sour green beans. All their party trays are good for 8-10 people. Perfect for your next potluck!

It’s truly amazing how food can bring out so many emotions. A plate of mac n’ cheese isn’t just pepper jack and brie, it’s comfort. It’s warmth on a cool, crisp evening, it’s people gathered together over (Chocnut) cheesecake and ham and wine. It’s reaching out and saying yes to an invitation so openly given.
