Philippines Breaks All-Time SEA Games Record of 112 Gold Medals

On December 9 the Philippines made a landmark achievement in the 30th Southeast Asian Games. By claiming their 113th gold medal in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (and many after it) they surpassed their previous best of 112 gold medals.

The Philippines’ previous record of most gold medals was achieved in 2005, also the last time our country played host to the SEA Games. As of writing, the Philippines currently stands with 148 gold medals — the highest number in its entire history since first joining the SEA Games in 1977.

Such a number was undoubtedly bolstered by strong showings from events such as dancesport and arnis, where our Filipino athletes dominated the rankings. Of course, each and every medal earned for the nation is equally significant and appreciated by the public.

With an overall medal tally of 381, the Philippines has reached yet another milestone. The country has never before reached the 300-medal mark in the SEA Games.
