President Duterte Declares Belief That Quiboloy Stopped The Mindanao Quake

A few days after the 6.6-magnitude earthquake affected areas in Mindanao, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy took credit for putting a stop to it. Addressing a crowd of his followers, he told them:  “Noong lumindol ng 6.6 [magnitude], nandoon ako kahapon, nandoon ako sa kwarto ko, sabi ko ‘lindol stop, umi-stop’ [When the 6.6-magnitude quake hit, I was in my room, and I told it ‘stop’, and it did].”

Sinigawan ko ‘yung lindol, noong gumanon na ‘yung mga chandelier ko, ‘stop!’ sabi ko, stop kaagad [I yelled at the earthquake when I saw my chandelier shaking, ‘stop!’ I said and it stopped right away],” the self-titled ‘Appointed Son of God’ continued.

These claims created quite some noise amongst netizens and even Vice Ganda took the time to give his two cents on the subject. To add to the conflicted reception of the pastor’s words President Rodrigo Duterte shared his own take on the matter.
