Duncan played for the Spurs for 19 years–his entire NBA career. During his stay with the Spurs, he managed to win 5 NBA titles and two MVP awards. Apart from that, he is also hailed as the franchise leader by scoring 26,496 points for the team. He retired last 2016 after playing 19 seasons with the Spurs.

“It is only fitting, that after I served loyally for 19 years as Tim Duncan’s assistant, that he returns the favor,” said Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich.

Many Duncan fans are definitely looking forward to seeing their idol back on the court–on the Spurs sideline, to be exact.
