Once you enter the doors of Starr’s Famous Milkshakes at UP Town, you’ll instantly fall in love with its cozy and artistic ambience. The branch is a perfect curation of pop art in a pastel themed setting. Everything from its funky wall art, monochrome-themed couches and wooden furniture is a testament to the fact. The place exudes a friendly yet calm vibe that’s perfect for the days when you need to get work done, or have a low-key bonding experience with your barkada.
Starr’s is a part of the corner that UP Town created for students. The mall curated the new part as homage to UP students—where you can find student favorites such as Rodic’s and Chocolate Kiss. The UP Town employees conducted a survey on the top brands of students and Starr’s Famous Shakes was a part of this nook.
Starr’s Famous Milkshakes definitely lives up to its name and fame. The place has some of the best milkshakes in Manila and the perfect treats to go with it. I tried some of their bestsellers and came up with a list of dishes that you should definitely check out!
Oreo Oreo Pancake (P145)
Starr’s Famous Milkshakes will never cease to amaze you. Their creamy concoctions are super thick, it feels like ice cream in shake form. But infinitely better! This is probably why it’s not such a surprise that I was completely blown away by their Oreo Pancake Milkshake. The irresistibly thick blend of vanilla and ice cream will drown your taste buds in the first sip. Another reveals the modest flavors of the classic Oreo cookies, which perfectly mingles with the delicious concoction. Topped with whole pieces of Oreo cookies coated in pancake and a generous amount of whipped cream, this milkshake will bring you back to the past. Finally, you’ll be able to enjoy your childhood treat in the best way possible.
Grilled Mac n Cheese (P105)
Imagine your classic serving of Mac n cheese filled with cheesy and gooey mozzarella. Once enjoyed with any of Starr’s milkshakes, the simple treat can be surprisingly filling. It’s also perfect as comfort food, but even better when enjoyed with good friends.
Bacondog (P95)
This is a treat that you definitely have to watch out for. Rather than just your typical hotdog sandwich, Starr’s Bacondog has crispy bacon for an added twist.
Super Corndog (P70)
If you’re craving classic corndog, be sure to drop by Starr’s. Like any original Corndog, this super snack consists of a sausage coated in a thick layer of cornmeal. It’s definitely a must-try when you’re craving for a chewy treat that’s just light on the stomach.
