Because there are so many NBA fans in the Philippines, the National Basketball Association (NBA) has finally decided to set up office here!
According to reports, Philippines is one of the NBA’s biggest markets in Asia, and opening an office here would help expand the league’s growth as well as open more business opportunities in the country.
“I think the popularity of basketball here and the popularity of the NBA is a great position for us. Over the years, we’ve seen explosive growth in this market,” Carlo Singson, NBA Philippines’ managing director, said to reporters.
The NBA office here is the 13th NBA office worldwide and is the first in Southeast Asia. the Manila office will focus on handling affairs in the Philippines in order to execute its programs in a lager scope, while trying out new projects in the country.
Other than the NBA stores, the NBA also manage the Jr. NBA basketball training camp and the NBA café, as well as partnerships with media and telecommunication firms.
“We are excited to see what the future holds for us. We have no plans of slowing down,” Singson said.
