If you are always around BGC, it is easy to spot Hungry Hound on the ground floor of the Globe Tower. Hungry Hound is a Gastro Pub by Chef Rob Pengson and Erwan Heussaff.
There are two sides to the establishment: Hungry Hound, which serves food, and Niner Ichi Nana, which serves tons of beers, cocktails and wines. According to Chef Mikko Reyes who crafted the menu, he took inspiration from the gastropub scene in the UK and Australia. The food is focused on freestyle gastropub cuisine with touches of Asian flavors. The flavors are familiar, but presented and served in a different manner.

Carabao’s Milk Burrata Salad – Php497
New on the menu is this very nice and fresh salad made with arugula, herbs, watermelon, red radish, and tomato topped with lemon vinaigrette. I haven’t encountered any salad like this before and with such a generous serving, you can always share it.
Thai Tuna Tartare – Php374
Also new on the menu is this Tuna Tartare, which is actually a green mango salad with basil, chili, nam pla vinaigrette, and peanuts topped with huge strips of pork cracklings. The tuna is very tasty and tangy while the pork cracklings are the perfect salty add-ons.
Foie Gras Nuggets
The Foie Gras Nuggets are some of the favorites of Chef Mikko and are part of one of the most loved dishes in the restaurant.
Lamb Shank Osso Bucco – Php594
This is one of our favorites from everything that we had at Hungry Hound. The lamb is very tender and falls off the bone and is served with the very tasty Roasted Pumpkin Risotto.
36 Hours Short Ribs – Php987
Also new on the menu are the 36 Hours Short Ribs, USDA short ribs that you can request as well done or medium rare. As the menu title says, it is processed for 36 hours to achieve perfection.
Banodee Triffle – Php269
There is always room for dessert in the form of this Spiced Banana Cake with Toffee Cream, Rum Stewed Banana and Salted Cashew Brittle. This is served warm and the cream on top perfectly melts into the cake.
Niner Ichi Nana
Niner Ichi Nana is just on the other side of the restaurant.
Wood Picks – Php320/410
This is awesome to look at and very intriguing, but don’t let looks fool you. It tastes very sweet and fruity with a punch. It is a mix of Makers Mark, Frangelico, lemon juice, fresh strawberries and egg whites.
Old Fashioned – Php280/440
This Bourbon is served smoked in a little bottle and with a cup with a cherry ice ball in it. Smoking the bourbon adds levels to its taste instead of just letting it be straight up bitter or sweet.
Pisco Sour – Php450
Their version of the traditional Amaretto Sour is the Pisco Sour. Its base is Pisco, but has Lime Falernum, Thai Bitters and other spices that Niner Ichi Nana made in store in it.
Overall, Hungry Hound and Niner Ichi Nana are great places to sit back and eat really good meals. It is for people who’d like to expand their taste palettes and discover twists to traditional food. You can also match your food with cocktails, which the staff can help you with.
