Murray and D’Vine: Burgers, Sliders and Damn Good Wine in Serendra

When in Manila and craving for burgers, sliders and (damn good) wine, do yourself a favor and head on over to Murray and D’Vine at Serendra in Taguig City.

Though the restaurant has two floors, the interiors are a bit cramped and can comfortably seat more or less 20 people, sans the bar stools. Thus, it’s best to give them a call and to reserve a table because it doesn’t take long for Murray and D’Vine to fill up with couples on dates, friends enjoying a laugh over good food, or even businessmen relaxing with a bottle of beer or wine courtesy of Titania Wine Cellar.

Sweet Potato Tots (Not on the menu yet). As the name implies, it is simply fried balls made out of sweet potatos. I was eating with a couple of friends who gobbled it up within seconds of it being served.

They were, however, kind enough to leave behind a couple for me. Thanks guys, no really, THANKS :))

Fish/Chicken or Beef Tacos (2 pcs each; P195). The one thing I appreciate about this dish was the taco shell. Usually, when the taco shell is stuffed with fillings, it easily breaks apart and makes it harder and messier for one to eat, which is why I personally avoid ordering tacos. But thankfully this wasn’t the case for this dish. It remained firm enough to hold the stuffings together, but would “crisp” off easily with each bite into it.

Nachos with Cheese and Beef (P215).

Sliders and Fries (90 grams each). Next up, we were served sliders which is basically a mini-me version of their burgers, specifically: juicy turkey, certified angus, and lastly, my favorite flavor amongst the three, my son-in-law’s spicey beef sliders.

The latter is a flavor of burger that I would definitely order in its regular size the next time I’m at Murray’s. Upon biting into it, you of course taste the beef, but then you get a kick of spice that isn’t too hot, but is just right.

Imported Spanish Baby Back Ribs. Meaty and delicious, and served with a side of shoestring fries. Simply by looking at the picture above, you can already tell that this was good, my only complaint though is that the serving was small and though they make it out for sharing, it isn’t, especially if you’re eating with a couple of your guy friends.

Big Ass 1lb. Burger (P560). Although a bit pricey, burgers from Murray and D’Vine are well worth it because they are made up of quality ingredients AND are served with a 1/2 lb patty. However, if you think you’re really hungry or just want to challenge yourself, why not order their Big Ass Burger? As the name implies, it’s a.. big ass burger! Initially, it started out as a special menu item for Valentine’s Day, thus its being heart- shaped, but because people kept asking for it, they decided to regularize it.

Finally, we come to the end of the meal, and what better way to top it all off but with three delicious slices of cake? Carrot Cake, White Chocolate Cheesecake, and my favorite, Double Chocolate Brownie Cake! As yummy as they were, we couldn’t take more than a bite each. We were too full! So, when in Manila, and craving for great burgers, sliders and wine, head on over to Murray and D’Vine in Serendra!
