“Pitch Perfect 2,” a sequel of the 2012 box-office hit “Pitch Perfect” that popularized Anna Kendrick’s performance of “Cups”, is slated for a May 2015 launch here in the Philippines.
Aside from looking forward to new a capella performances from the Barden Bellas, new musical tricks from Beca (Anna Kendrick), and crazy antics from Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson), we can also look forward to the performance of a Pinoy band on Pitch Perfect 2.
According to a post from Philstar,com, a band called “The Filharmonic” will represent the Philippines and will compete with the Barden Bellas in the movie.

The Filharmonic members are Filipinos, composed of vocalists VJ Rosales, Joe Caigoy, Trace Gaynor, and Barry Fortgang; Jules Cruz (vocal bass); and Niko Del Rey (beat boxer).
The group is based in Los Angeles and were featured on NBC’s hit musical competition “The Sing-Off.
” The Filharmonic made it to the semi-finals.
They have already shared the stage with artists including Linkin Park, Black Eyed Peas, and Pentatonix.
The Filharmonic’s melodic style is said to “exemplify an urbanesque hip-hop sound with ’90s nostalgia.”
