Mustiola’s: The Best Carinderia in Lucban, Quezon – Home-Cooked Food at Affordable Prices!

 

If you want to go to Vigan, Ilocos Sur, but you don’t have too much time or money to travel for long, why not visit Lucban, Quezon instead? It’s just a 4-hour travel from Manila. There are old churches and houses there, too. A famous go-to place in Lucban, Quezon is Kamay ni Hesus where visitors can climb the 300 steps of the grotto. Lucban takes pride in their food as well, like their Lucban longganisa, pansit palabok, and chami (a kind of pansit).

If you decide to go to Lucban, Quezon, don’t forget to eat at Mustiola’s. This yellow-painted old Spanish-inspired house has a nice carinderia and cafe on its ground floor. Students, employees, and families frequent Mustiola’s to eat delicious and satisfying home-cooked meals at affordable prices.

 

 

Mustiola’s is known as the best carinderia in town. It has large windows that allow the sunshine to pass through the place. Lucban has cold weather most of the time, so the wind outside goes inside Mustiola’s through these windows, too.

 

The ceiling is decorated with the famous kipings of Lucban during Pahiyas Festival every May.

There are also high chairs available, as well as a Japanese-inspired dining area.

If you go further inside, there’s a tunnel turned into a cafe, too. This area used to be the place where kalesas were once kept.

The food displayed at the food window go for only Php40 each.

 They also offer snacks and desserts

When we went there, I ordered chami — a noodle dish made from Miki noodles and sautéed with meat and vegetables.

This is Tiramisu. Instead of using Graham crackers, they used broas (ladyfingers). As a result, the base is softer and their Tiramisu is sweeter than the usual ones.

 

We all have dream destinations, but until such time when our time and money permit us to make those dream come true, let’s not forget that we can still travel to alternative places that resemble our dream destinations.
