Millie’s Restaurant at Microtel by Wyndham Mall of Asia
Â
When in Manila and bored with the usual  restaurants around Mall of Asia, I highly recommend you try out Millie’s located inside Microtel by Wyndham Mall of Asia.Â
Here’s my story:
Last weekend, during my stay at Microtel by Wyndham Mall of Asia, I didn’t have any expectations at all with the food and even listed down a few restos I would visit at Mall of Asia. I had this thought that since I was staying in a budget hotel, the food wasn’t gonna be satisfying like in my previous experiences with other hotels. But I was wrong. Totally wrong!
By the way, another reason why I’ve decided to write about Millie’s is because I wanted to share with you her legacy. Millie’s was named after  the wife of former Ambassador Ramon del Rosario and mother to Jose Mari del Rosario, president and CEO of Microtel. Millie was a devoted wife, mother and a passionate traveler as well!  Her old passports, postcards and collection of souvenirs are all displayed in the restaurant for the public to see. I find her life to be so inspiring and exciting as well and I can definitely relate to her very much since I’m a travel bug myself!
Going back to the food, they totally got me with their breakfast buffet! Nothing fancy but very satisfying! The variety of dishes may be limited but every item was cooked and prepared well.Â
Here are the dishes which were served that day. The corned beef was very lean and tasty, the ham was tender and sweet and the scrambled eggs were perfect!
I took this photo after breakfast since I didn’t want people to feel awkward while I took photos of them. I respect their privacy of course. Â An hour prior to this, the whole resto was filled with people.
Â
Aside from their breakfast buffet, you can also order ala carte breakfast from their menu. During my 2nd day, I ordered this…
Millie’s Pancakes (P250):Â Crunchy bacon and pancakes topped with whipped cream!
Â
Like I said earlier, I got so impressed with their breakfast items that I quickly decided to have all my meals there for the rest of my stay!Â
I was fortunate enough to meet their super friendly and accommodating F&B Manager Ms Marivic whom I instantly clicked with! She’s very charismatic and cheerful so I felt very at ease with her. It was like meeting an old friend! Ms Marivic recommended their specialties and boy did I get extra excited when she told me about their signature dishes for they were all my favorites!
Â
Â
Are you ready for this?
WARNING: The next series of food photos may cause extreme cravings…
Millie’s Garden Salad: Garden greens with fresh bell peppers, pearl tomatoes, sweet diced mangoes with flavorful roasted chicken strips.
Â
The flavorful roasted chicken strips were made it even more enjoyable to eat. I can practically eat only this all day!
Â
Â
Seafood  Marinara
Â
… swirl swirl swirl (ladidahhhh…)
MMMMMmmmmmmmm!!!! hehehehehe ( no explanations needed)
Â
Osso Buco  (P650)
Beef shanks braised  in tomato, white wine and herbs served with pasta
This Italian classic is truly one of my favorites and it’s my first ever time to enjoy it with pasta!
Â
Now we proceed with another winner! I can’t believe that I found one of the best tasting Baby Back Ribs right here at Millie’s!
Baby Back Ribs (P500)
Â
Aside from being tenderly flavorful, another thing I love most about it would be the coleslaw on the side and the ranch dressing which gave it a refreshing zing!Â
Â
And as for our sweet ending, I tried yet another Italian classic – Mango Panna Cotta
Â
Guess what? I used to dislike it (coz I’m more of a Tiramisu person) but this particular one, I genuinely like!
Â
Aside from these delightful dishes, I heard they also pride themselves with they’re very own version of the classic Kare-Kare. Â I feel so blessed to find this gem and I can’t wait to bring my friends and loved ones soon! I highly recommend Millie’s to anyone who loves celebrating life through great food and great company!Â
Â
So when in Manila and taking the family to Mall of Asia, instead of ending up eating at those generic expensive restaurants inside the mall, I highly recommend you try out the gastronomic goodness which Millie’s has to offer!
