LOOK: This 8-Year-Old Boy From Davao Spent More Than 100,000 Pesos Online

Quite a few parents may have experienced this before: handing devices to their kids for them play on just to realize when they check their emails that their kids unknowingly spent their money ordering more diamonds / coins / lives on whichever game they’re on. I know I’ve experienced this before. Have your kids ever spent hundreds of thousands of pesos, though? One 8-year-old boy from Davao City did.

Julmar Grace Locsin shared the story on her Facebook page. “One of the twins unknowingly purchased mobile games and spent at least P40k in just 2 days,” she exclaims. “Good that I was able to track bank statements for our finance team today or else we could have spent more without any clue.”

Julmar explains that her husband’s account is actually connected to Google Play because they sometimes rent good movies on YouTube. When his old phone was handed to one of their kids last Christmas, it turns out he downloaded some games without asking permission because the old games were too easy for him and he thought all of the downloads were free.

Julmar shares that he cried a lot after talking about it and forgiving him. He was very sorry, of course. Read the full post here:

We love how they handled everything! In a recent update, it turns out he actually spent a total of 100,000 pesos! They have already requested a refund since then, and parental controls and passwords for purchases have also already been added. Make sure you do the same, fellow parents!
