7 Reasons Why Clark Medina May Not Be “The One” For You

And because I still have a bad case of OTWOL (On The Wings Of Love) hangover, we’re gonna talk about the most amazing fictional character IMO that has ever graced Philippine TV- Clark Medina. He’s charming, loving, caring, and all-around the perfect husband or husband-to-be. He has his own insecurities which makes him even more lovable. However, if it wasn’t for Leah’s character, we wouldn’t have known this side of Clark Medina. It was her who brought out  the best in him. It was her who brought out everything that we’ve come to learn and love about the On The Wings of Love‘s leading man.

However, despite all his admirable qualities, I’ve realized why Clark Medina may not exactly be my “The One.” Or yours. Sorry, ladies! This write-up is bound to break some hearts, but here are ten reasons why Clark Medina may not just be your perfect match.

7. You never make the first move

Clark Medina initially had a dim and gloomy outlook on life and everything in between. His smile is as rare as the green pearl and it would be a miracle to actually catch him in a good mood. If Leah did not make the first move and actually asked him to become her husband, he wouldn’t have been the Clark Medina we now know and love.

Also, let’s not forget this cat-and-dog relationship we’ve grown to love and cherish throughout the whole show.

“BOOM. PANES!”

6. You can’t cook ala Leah style

Now you may be the best cook in the world, but if you can’t cook the way Leah does then you’re bound to make Clark faint than fall in love. Let’s remember that Clark Medina has no idea how to cook. But Leah had a natural gift in knowing what makes Clark’s taste bud go all crazy. If you can’t make that home-cooked meal feel like home then it’s much better to leave Clark to Leah, because we both know that they’re #ENDGAME anyway.

“Isipin mo nalang na ako siya, at mahal na mahal din kita.” (Definitely the best breakfast ever)

5. You have a short fuse

Let’s face it! Patience is not so much of a virtue these days. Heck, with everyone’s short attention span? I’m applauding you for getting to this part of the article. But case in point, Leah has been the most patient being in the world when it comes to Clark Medina. She did her best to understand him rather than get affected by the hurtful things that he says. Whether it was due to the fact that she needed her green card or she’s just a naturally caring person, we will never know. The point is, she’s always done her best to understand the situation which brings me to my next point.

“Do you wanna be friends with me?”

4. You are not stubborn

Clark Medina is the most stubborn fictional character in the face of Philippine TV. Remember that time he forced himself to work despite his burning fever? Because I do. And if it wasn’t for Leah’s equally stubborn attitude, we wouldn’t have had that amazing scene of Leah and Clark in bed cuddling. They wouldn’t have been closer with each other, proceeding to that oh-so-amazing love story we all loved.

“I love you… I love you, mom”

3. You always follow

The best thing about Leah and Clark’s relationship is the fact that they don’t follow each other. They are their own individuals, but they always intersect at the end of the day. Now, if you’re the type to always bend and agree with your partner then the relationship is bound to fall. Especially if you’re hoping to keep a big fish like Clark Medina. Because let’s face it, Clark Medina will not be Clark Medina if he did not break, fall, and stand up again–and it wouldn’t have happened if not for Leah’s individuality and sense of self.

There’s always the word, “natin.”

2. You are always poised

Remember the wedding and Leah’s grand entrance going from great to flop after almost tripping over herself? Yep, that one! Leah has not always been the most graceful character in the show, but because of that, she was able to bring out Clark’s protective instincts. I mean, am I the only one who still remember Clark going up against two goons who tried to take advantage of Leah? That line, “Nobody touches my wife,” still rings true up to this day.

“Okay na sana, lampa lang.”

1. You don’t have a catch phrase

Leah’s positivity has made its mark mostly through all of her catch phrases. From “PUSH” to “ACHIEVE,” how can we ever forget Clark Medina’s epic impersonation of all these. What I’m trying to say is that if you don’t have a catch phrase, you will never rub off to Clark the same way Leah has. She has basically changed his perspective on life and has turned his gloomy world upside down. And if that’s not true love, I don’t know what is.

“Achieve!”

Now keep in mind, these are just a few of the many reasons why Clark Medina is exclusive only for Leah Olivar. And now that you understand where I am coming from, let’s both sing to the 8 songs of an almost relationship and the 7 ultimate hugot songs for the brokehearted while eating a jug of Joseph’s Craft ice cream because sweets will never fail us. But hey, it’s not the end of the world. After all, there are tons of Clark Medinas in the sea. Hopefully. *fingers crossed*

Maybe next time, it will be the right Clark Medina for you.
