7 Games that are Worth Buying a Nintendo Switch For

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

No Switch games list is complete without at least a mention of Breath of the Wild. An absolutely stunning game that practically got the Switch flying off shelves during the first few months of its release. This is a game that you absolutely must get! Old fans of the series will enjoy how intricate the gameplay is and newbies will fall in love with the series.

Super Mario Odyssey

Another game that is absolutely essential for the Switch! When we hear the name ‘Nintendo’, we usually think of of a plumber in a red hat, and Super Mario Odyssey is a game that delivers. This isn’t a game that only kids will enjoy. Adults will absolutely enjoy the nostalgia of playing a Mario game while also enjoying the challenge that comes wit it. It reinvents what a Mario game can be, after all.

Celeste

A beautiful indie game that will draw you in with its gameplay and story. Don’t think the gameplay isn’t challenging, though, because it is! And though you’ll fail loads of times before you climb the mountain, you’ll feel like you conquered it with Madeline.

Night in the Woods

Another indie game that’s definitely worth trying. This is the first game I played on the Switch and it’s still one of my favorites. Not only is the art adorable, but the story also proves to be more than just for kids despite first appearances. This is a story that deals with growing up and life. Though the gameplay is light, the superb graphics and interesting mini-games will definitely satisfy. Night in the Woods also has a free mini-game that’s downloadable through their website!

Bayonetta 2

This is definitely the game for action lovers! This fast-paced game with its superb combat scenes is sure to make excite your fingers. This former Wii-U exclusive has finally been ported over to the Switch so others can finally experience how badass Bayonetta is. Like honestly, Bayonetta is badass.

Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

It’s Skyrim. We don’t need to elaborate on how iconic that game is. What you might not know is that it’s also been ported to the Switch! We all know that one person who would love to play this game anywhere and anytime. This is a classic game and if you haven’t tried it yet, why not try it out on the Switch?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Who doesn’t enjoy Mario Kart? We all dread the blue tortoise shell, but honestly, this game is even more fantastic when played with friends and family! This game makes use of the Switch’s unique detachable Joy-Cons, so you can play with a friend who might not have a Switch by simply removing the Joy-Cons and handing them one. Portable Mario Kart is always good.

There are so many other fantastic games for the Switch! Don’t just stick to these games because just like Breath of the Wild, there’s so much more to explore! Happy playing!
