2012 World Food Expo is Back!

World Food Expo, or WOFEX 2012, celebrates its 12th year with its back-to-back run at the SMX Convention Center and the World Trade Center on August 1-4.  Being the biggest food expo in the country as it continues to be the food and beverage industry’s main source of supply solutions, Wofex promises to bring in the latest technologies and products from all over the world, with two huge venues, two distinct markets, eight exhibition halls and the much anticipated 2012 Philippine Culinary Cup (PCC).

PCC on its third year will be participated in by local and foreign chefs and student-chefs, and will have as jury senior chefs who are all members of the World Association of Chef Societies (WACS), making this the only WACS-accredited Culinary competition. The foreign jury chefs will be flying in to the Philippines specifically for WOFEX, among them, Chefs Tony Khoo, Ewald Notter, Kurt Von Burren, Kenny Kong, and many more.

WOFEX also prides itself with the inclusion of the International Country Pavilions which showcases various countries’ food & beverage specialties, including our very own Philippine Pavilion.  Other pavilions will be from the US, Turkey, Singapore, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and China.

As an innovator in the food and beverage industry through the years, and with the intent of providing advanced education to both the industry and the academe, WOFEX is launching its year-round series of training programs through its WOFEX University. Being offered are excellent learning opportunities on trends and techniques that are not always learned from formal schooling from local and foreign experts.   And what better time to launch this new service to the industry than during its opening day on August 1, with no less than HK-based US Chef Jeffrey Follick who will talk about Healthy Cooking, A Butchery Course by Chef Peter Van-es, andThe Modern Art of Sugar by Chef Ewald Notter.
