The Mexicans and Filipinos have a lot of things in common: food, culture, and beliefs. Moreover, we love their authentic dishes like Tacos and Burritos.
This one is called Barbacoa. A Su Casa bestseller and its main ingredients are classic Mexican beef with pinto beans, tomato, onion, and Mexican rice. Barbacoa is a type of cooking meat that began in the Caribbean with the Taíno individuals, from which the expression “grill” started.(Source:Wikipedia)
Ideally, the authentic Mexican burrito’s main ingredients are only meat and refried beans. Meanwhile, in the US, burrito ingredients mostly are a combination of plain or Mexican-style rice, beans or refried beans, lettuce, salsa, meat, guacamole (optional), cheese, and sour cream.
Admittedly, I’ve been craving for some tacos and burritos lately so I asked my friends on Facebook to share with me their go-to Mexican restaurants that will satisfy our taco and burrito cravings!
Are you ready to go loco over these delightful Mexican dishes? Here we go!
13. Army Navy

11. Taco Bell
Although, Taco Bell is a fast food joint, they serve equally delicious Mexican tacos and burritos, as well. We always order combination burrito or mexi-melt with a generous amount of sour cream!
10. Ristras Grill Fort
Fairways Tower, 5th Avenue, Fort Bonifacio Global City, Taguig
This humongous burrito is made for sharing.
Ristras Mexican Grill is a fast-food place that serves slow-cooked Mexican food using only the freshest ingredients. Just a little FYI, the word ristras is the arrangement of chili pepper pods when hung to dry. Read more about this appetizing burrito here.

8. Taco vengo
16 United Street, Kapitolyo, Pasig City
Taco Vengo was highly recommended by my friends from Pasig. I haven’t tried personally, but will surely swing by one of these days!
7. Drive By – Taco Shop
My Fil-Am hubby was craving for some authentic tacos last week. And by authentic I mean, it has to be a real Mexican-ish taste since he is from LA. We drove by Aguirre street and tried their tacos. Mike and I genuinely loved it and would definitely come back for more! For us, it’s Taco everyday with Drive By- Taco Shop! (Try their burritos, too!)
