10 Things To Do When In Vigan: Our Weekend Adventure in Vigan!

6. Have a Foodtrip in Vigan

We love food and we love to eat! So of course, we wouldn’t miss a foodtrip in Vigan!

Aside from the empanada, don’t miss the Bagnet! We also tried Godion Hotel’s Dinengdeng which reminded me of pinakbet but in Ilocano style and their Igado.

Have your fix of desserts at Leila’s Cafe — we fell in love with their Monkey Club! French toast loaded with bananas, peanut butter and drizzled with chocolate.

End your Calle Crisologo stroll at Cafe Leona! They offer Ilocano cuisine, other Filipino dishes, Thai and Japanese cuisine too. You’ll surely get your foodie fix in Vigan!

7. Get your Hands Dirty at Pagburnayan

Pagburnayan is included in the Kalesa tour and while you’re in there, give pottery a chance!

You will see a demo of pottery making and if you ask nicely, you can try it yourself. Just leave a little tip! 😉

Not a very good job, I may say. But it was fun to try!

8. Watch Vigan’s Musical Dancing Fountain

This is something new in Vigan and it was a spectacle to watch! After your stroll, just head to the plaza and watch their Musical Dancing Fountain show! Best thing is that it’s free! It reminded me a lot of those fountain shows in Macau, so it’s awesome that we have this in Vigan.

Show starts at 7:30 PM and lasts for 30mins (Mon-Fri)

9. Have Vigan’s Famous Longganisa

You’re already in Vigan, so what should you do? Why, eat Vigan Longganisa of course!

Have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner! We love Vigan Longganisa’s garlicky taste, pair it with egg, tomatoes and sukang iloko — SUPERB!

You can also take home a dozen of Vigan’s longganisa for Php100-140.

10. Don’t Forget to Bring Home Some Pasalubong!

What we usually hear from our friends and family whenever we go out of town is “Pasalubong ha!“. You don’t have to worry because Vigan has a lot of pasalubong-worthy products!

You can get most of it in Calle Crisologo — Bagnet, chichacorn, woven blankets, rice cakes, ref magnets, t-shirts, handicrafts or Vigan longganisa.

Sukang Iloko, best paired with the longganisa, bagnet, okoy or empanada.

You can take home some pottery, antique pieces and various knick-knacks.

And we attempted to bring home some empanada (with the eggs well done to avoid spoilage) and after 10 hours of travel time — it was already a little soggy and not crispy anymore but still naimas (tastes good)!

And that wraps up our 10 Things To Do When In Vigan! We hope you try it out for yourself and explore more of our country’s beautiful places! And let us know what you think of Vigan when you visit it! Until next time! 🙂 Happy Travels!
