8. Wear the proper attire
The best attire for canyoneering are gym clothes–the tight fitted ones. T-shirts are fine, but long sleeves are better to protect you from the sun and the rocks. The best thing to wear is a long sleeved rashguard that has SPF. Mine was Billabong, I think they make the best ones. They were so quick to dry and felt like second skin. It’s a personal preference.
Don’t wear shorts. Wear something to cover your legs for protection. I wore thick yoga pants.
7. Do not separate from your group
This was what our group leader, Aryong, reiterated. We were a group of 8 and we had 3 guides with us. You have to always stay with your group. It was very dangerous if you separated from your group. You can fall and get hurt. Also, the 3 guides worked better together rather than everyone is all over the place.
