The end of another year is fast approaching and so it’s only natural to be reminiscent of what has happened throughout 2018. With political turmoil, rampant killings, and intensified natural disasters, it’s difficult to judge whether the year has been favorable or not, because with the bad news came also good ones, like the passing of mental health law and the outlaw of street harassment towards women.
As is human nature, we’ve contributed an equal share of good and bad in today’s world. But of course, it is also part of our nature to be a little weird, and what better way to record our absurd, creative inventions than the ever-reliable internet. To end our year on a good note here is a reminder of a few of the funniest and most wholesome videos that surfaced on our news feeds this 2018:

Around a month ago, the bongo cat became viral and different songs were used for it to jam to. Though in my opinion, this version may be the best. It screaming its cutie little head off over the mountains is all of us inside.

This video was originally created last year, 2017, but it’s so weird and catchy it still pops on my timeline now and then. If cockroaches would just dance instead of fly, they wouldn’t be half bad.

Created by the same animator who made the Little Umbrella song, Danny Casale, this little blue dude currently has a three-part series of good thoughts to spread that are relevant and timeless. You can watch more of his works on his Facebook page, @coolmancoffeedan. I personally recommend it. It has the right blend of weird, and uplifting.

Of course, on the top of our list is the butt video everyone didn’t miss. Once you get past the haunting eyes and that shiny bottom, his words are quite soothing and warm, like the hug of an old friend.
