Shop this Season’s Biggest Trends at Bonifacio High Street Central! #BHSStylePicks
When in Manila, now’s a great time to rediscover Bonifacio High Street as your newest favorite shopping destination. I myself admit to conisgning this piece of BGC under my “foodie haunts” file because of the many awesome dining options Bonifacion High Street offers; but with the launch of numerous new shops at the recently opened C1 and C2 building of Bonifacio High Street Central this year, my views on how and where to shop at BGC are beginning to shift entirely.
Taking a cue from celebrity stylist Charmaine Palermo, here are our top five stores to shop for five particular trends this season, all conveniently found at Bofiacio High Street Central. Let me break it down for you:
Rows and rows of dainty floral prints at Ever New
Crop tops in fun prints and pristine whites
Bold colors for dresses and blazers
And the best part is, Ever New is currently on sale!
Tip/Trend #1: Mixing Prints at Ever New
The Aussie label does feminine chic unlike any other, tastefully rendering florals, pastels and other implements into flattering silhouettes that are unabashedly girlish without being obnoxiously so. Have fun with Ever New’s watercolor palette by mixing prints of a similar size under a unified color scheme, and grounding it all with a solid-colored accent like a blazer or scarf.
Basics galore at Mango
Jeans in every cut and finish, with prices that go WAY down during their end-of-season sales!
Hunting for an LBD shouldn’t be a challenge here
Perfect everyday bags in neutral colors
Tip/Trend #2: Getting the Basics down at Mango
Shopping for basics comprise pieces that, ideally, seamlessly go with anything in your closet – ail-safe, go-to pieces for days when you have “nothing to wear.” Likewise, basics shouldn’t mean boring. Take your pick from Mango’s various versions of white button-downs, sleek trousers, sharp blazers and LBD’s, find a pair of boyfriend/skinny jeans (your pick) to use and abuse, and see the beginnings of a substantial wardrobe emerge.
Chic black and white
Bright colors in graphic prints
Dresses in rich hues for that vintage feel
Tip/Trend #3: Mod Cocktail Chic at Karen Millen
This season, Karen Millen gives the enduring trend a fresh update by means of sleek cuts, modern prints and just the right amount of lace and embellishments, making it a no-brainer when shopping for what to wear to your next big shindig. Find a style, print or color to complement your body shape and skin tone, and you’re sure to warrant the right kind of attention. Finish it off with classic black pumps and a cute little chain purse.
Sleek jackets and lots of black
Roomy totes and fancy purses
Fail-safe button-downs
Tip/Trend #4: Day-to-Night Dressing at Kenneth Cole
Day-to-Night dressing can be quite tricky, it requires finding pieces that offer comfort and ease while running about during the day, while possessing enough leverage to look polished enough for happenings at night. Stick with items in crease-proof fabrics that can easily be accessorized with statement jewelry for nighttime; and remember that wedge heels are your best friend.
Moto jackets fare well with the military trend
Camo prints, olive-colored anything, navy, rivet accents and distressed denim all make a cohesive military aesthetic.
Tip/Trend #5: Military chic at Diesel
A super wearable trend that goes from work-mode to casual, the military style is best applied in doses so as not to look like you’re actually part of the army. Structured jackets with rivet accents, as well as pullovers and rugged coats in the unmistakable olive shade best communicate this trend without overdoing it. Diesel offers an array of army-inspired jackets and sweaters, which go well with their signature brand of denim jeans.
I hope this mini style analysis has armed you with some fresh ideas on your next retail session; it’s pretty awesome that so many options can all be found in one place. And I just dropped by these stores a couple of days ago and found that most of them were on sale, so yay! Happy shopping at BHS Central!
