LOOK: Harvard Student Submits A Rap Album For His Thesis

Writing a thesis is one of the hardest things a student has to do. All the sleepless nights, the hours spent reading pages and pages of books and resources in the library, and of course, the countless cups of coffee that got you through these days.

This Harvard student was not required to write one to be able to graduate, but because of his passion about the topic, he did, and he even made a rap album about it.

Obasi Shaw, a 20-year-old graduate of the Harvard English department, wrote about the sociopolitical issues that affected African-Americans. He thought that the best way to deliver the struggles of African-Americans is through their own way – rap.

He is the first ever to submit a thesis in the form of a rap album. Obasi was awarded with honors due to the substance of his study and its artistic form. Even more, his method has changed some people’s perception of the genre making them realize that rap can also be a serious form of literary art.
