The workshop started with short introductions about the speakers and the craft of lettering. We saw the basic types and the art and technicalities behind lettering. After educating ourselves through the lessons, Abbey passed around her works for the students to see as samples. And then for the hands-on part of the workshop, the students practiced their lettering skills on a piece of intermediate pad paper.

“Practice makes permanent.”

It was really refreshing to see the students absorbed in the craft! Just after a few hours of lectures and exercises they were able to make these!

IÂ tried to do one too! TAH DAH!

Is it… okay?Â
I must say, lettering is something I’m really considering to try out. I think I need to buy pens soon. This workshop converted me and I am so excited to practice lettering at home!

Congratulations to Share the Love students for doing a wonderful job!
It wasn’t just a day of learning the craft of lettering but also learning for a really good cause! Learning helps!
