The long wait is over.
Makoto Shinkai’s masterpiece Weathering With You will soon drop on streaming platform Netflix.
Checking from Netflix’s Coming Soon, the anime movie is scheduled for release on Friday, July 31.

This follows after the hit anime film Your Name was released on Netflix earlier this month.
Weathering With You tells the story of Hodaka Morishima, a highschool boy who ran away from home to explore and live in Tokyo. After a couple of mishaps living on his own, he met a high school girl named Hina Amano, who has the ability to control the weather. The two become friends.
They use Hina’s power as a business to get clear skies, but this comes at a price.
The movie came out in Japan on July 19, 2019. Prior to the day of release, a novel adaptation written by Shinkai—one of his original works—was published.
The movie was selected as the Japanese entry for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards. It also received four Annie Award nominations including Best Independent Animated Feature.
