WATCH: ‘The Promised Neverland’ Season 2 Premiere Date Has Been Revealed

After more than a year of waiting, fans of the new Japanese anime The Promised Neverland were finally treated to new details about the forthcoming second season.

The series, which first aired in January 2019, follows the story of young children who plan an escape from their orphanage after they discover what happens to their friends when they are “adopted.” It currently has a total of 12 episodes and is on Netflix, with a second season on the way.

Sadly, due to the temporary halt of all production of movies and television shows caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the sequel has been delayed from October 2020 to January 2021. See the official announcement video below:
