WATCH: A blue whale was spotted near the shores of Panglao for the first time in a while!

We’ve seen a lot of posts lately about how nature has slowly started to recuperate and thrive again. Well, here’s another piece of good news for everyone. In a Facebook post by alexanderfreedriver (Alexander Nilsson Freediver), he caught a blue whale on camera near the shores of Panglao at the M’Ocean Freediving School!

“A blue whale at our diving spot here in Panglao! I knew that the giants of the sea have been spotted around Bohol before, but I would never imagine that the biggest animal on earth would get this close to shore and to the place we usually dive at. In this video you can see a glimpse of when the whale comes up for air, and that’s around 15 meters from shore and at around 20 meters depth,” he wrote on his Facebook post.

This spot is a regular diving spot so they were surprised to see the giant wonder of nature so close by!
