#WalangPasok: Palace declares Dec. 26, Jan. 2 as special non-working holidays nationwide

Malacañang has announced that December 26, 2016, and January 2, 2017, will be special non-working days nationwide to “give the people full opportunity to celebrate the holidays with their families and loved ones.”

This is according to Proclamation No. 117 that Malacañang released on Wednesday and signed by acting executive secretary Menardo Guevarra.

In the country, December 25 (Christmas Day) and January 1 (New Year’s Day) are already regular holidays. Both days fall on a Sunday.
