Pancake House dubs this as the Best Taco in Town.

Taco eating, for me, always seemed to be  a grueling task. It involved an act of balancing the shell, making sure that the filling wouldn’t suddenly plop out of the other end. Taking a well portioned bite proved to be a hard task as well, because I could never get the right ratios of meat, vegetables, and cheese all in one go.

I try to stay away from Tacos whenever necessary, but when this was placed on our table, I braced myself, positioned the Taco in a comfortable position — one hand supporting the base and another holding the two flaps — and went in for the kill.

The result was a crunch, followed by a taste of the meat filling and vegetables. “No cheese,”, I thought, and took yet another bite of Pancake House’s Best Taco in Town. I may have not gotten the perfect balance of ingredients all in one go, but I’m happy to say that I’m not giving up on my Taco quest so soon.

Here’s a tip: Eat the Taco as soon as it’s served. Letting it sit for too long could make the shell less crunchy and soggy from the meat filling.

An Omelette style breakfast.

An Omelette style breakfast.

Whether sunny side up, scrambled, or hard boiled, it’s safe to say that eggs are a mainstay in most breakfast plates. The Spanish Omelette is filled with both green and red bell peppers, onions, and ham. If you’re not one to favor runny eggs, do yourself a favor and tell the server beforehand. I, on the other hand, was perfectly fine sopping my bread over the remains of the runny eggs.

Surprised with how much I liked Pancake House's Classic Pan Chicken.

One of the best chickens in my book.

I had heard many great things about Pancake House’s Classic Pan Chicken before, but never once tried it for myself. Consider me one of those individuals who know their favorites at a restaurant and constantly order them without fail. In fact, if it weren’t for this feature, I might have even done just the same.

I digress. But in all honesty, this dish surprised me the most as I had never thought of Pancake House as a restaurant offering delicious pieces of chicken. What left me and my companions in awe was how the breading retained crispness despite its thinness in layer. The breading was also able to hold the thick graving served on the side. Yes, fellow fried chicken foodies, this is definitely a dish worth trying.
