This Song Is the First YouTube Video to Reach 10 Billion Views

“Baby Shark” just became the first YouTube video to reach 10 billion views!

As of writing, the wildly infectious children’s song from South Korea now has 10,065,520,017 views to be exact with 33 million likes. It was first uploaded by Pinkfong Baby Shark – Kids’ Songs & Stories on the platform on June 18, 2016, and quickly went viral in Asia the year later. This milestone was achieved on 13 January 2022.

According to the Guinness World Records, “By February 2021, ‘Baby Shark’ had more views than the entire human population of Earth, becoming the first YouTube video to do so. If its 10 billion views were played back-to-back, they would run for 41,095 years.”

The catchy children’s dance and music singalong reportedly surpassed Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito” in 2020 as the most viewed music video on YouTube and the most viewed video on YouTube overall.
