If you’re like one of us who fell in love with Black Panther last year, we have great news for you: we know when the sequel is coming out.
The sequel will be out on May 6, 2022.
There’s still no word what it will be about, but we do know that Ryan Coogler, who directed the first film, will be back to handle the sequel.
Black Panther is the alter ego of T’Challa, the king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda. For generations, the kingdom has sought to keep their source of power and wealth a secret. By posing as a third world country, they successfully hide vast amounts of vibranium to develop advanced technology. Its film, released last year, was met with critical acclaim, scoring 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.
It went on to win three Oscars, including Best Costume Design, Best Original Score, and Best Production. It is the first superhero film to have been nominated for Best Film, as well as the first MCU film to win an Oscar.
