The Hills Are Alive! ‘The Sound of Music’ is Next to be Streamed for FREE this Weekend

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens–these are a few of my favorite things. But none can compare to my love for musicals, which is why I’m completely over the moon that esteemed composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has been treating us theater geeks to his award-winning productions for FREE every weekend.

From Phantom of the Opera to Cats the Musical, his productions have been in the spotlight week after week. This time around, it’s going to be his stage adaptation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein mega-hit The Sound of Music!

The Sound of Music follows the story of a wayward nun who begins work as a governess to a retired naval officer’s seven children. She then spends her days bringing love, joy, and music into their lives while also figuring out her place in this world.

The musical is best known for its songs “Do Re Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss,” and “Climb Every Mountain.”

The chosen production to be streamed will be the 2013 live broadcast that aired on NBC starring Carrie Underwood as Maria. It will be up for 48 hours on Webber’s The Show Must Go On! YouTube channel starting May 23, 2 AM (Manila time).
