Inspired by Mike Mill, The Legend in the world of BBQ, Troy reflects his passion forย smoking food in his restaurant, The Smokeyard. Situated in a growing gastronomic block in Makati, The Smokeyard serves tasty authentic American BBQ thatย all pinoy BBQ lovers must try.
Flying from New York to Illinois to attend BBQ classes, Troy graduated as a professional Pitmaster from being a backyard smoker. He acquired knowledge from other Pitmasters fromย those classes and is still mastering the craft of smoking. Using all of those experiences to serve authentic BBQ and other smoked meats, the dishes they serve at The Smokeyard are all good on their own! You can order per gram, too, so you can try a little bit of everything onย their menu. The quantity will really depend on your preference.
We started with pulled pork sliders, which filled our hungry tummies right away.ย We felt completely satisfied after the first serving! You can also try their pulled porkย paired withย mustard vinegar sauce.
Sweet potato chips (30php per 60z); Pork cracklings (60php per 60z)
Pork sliders + mustard vinegar + coleslaw (220php)
Our favourites, whichย are allย best paired with The Smokeyard’s original fire sauce:
Babyย Back Ribs (95php)
US Beef brisket (125php); Kielbasa (130php) – finger-lickin’ good!
Per 50 grams: Pork belly (85php) – satisfyingly succulent;ย Chicken wings (60php)
For Pinoys, meals aren’t complete withoutย kanin. Well, don’t worry. The Smokeyard has gotย you covered with their dirty rice. Their otherย sides are must-tries, too: mac and 4 cheeses, coleslaw, marble potatoes, smoked beans, sweet potato chips and cornbread:
Per 60z: Dirty rice (50php) Mac & 4 cheeses (140php), Coleslaw (60php), Marble potatoes (60php), Smoked beans (60php), Sweet potato chips (30php) and cornbread (70php)
For carnivores looking for smoked meats that guarantee you good value for your money, you need to include this on your next food crawl!
