The 1999 science fiction film “The Matrix” is apparently in the works for a new reboot, because what isn’t being rebooted by Hollywood nowadays?
Producers are reportedly eyeing Michael B. Jordan to be cast as Neo, previously played by Keanu Reeves. Keanu has previously stated that he would not want to work on another Matrix film unless The Wachowskis come back on board to write and direct the movie.
Screenwriter Zak Penn, who was behind X-Men: The Last Stand and The Avengers, is also in talks to write a new film treatment, while no director has been attached to the project as of late.
Reeves shot to fame in The Matrix, and continued to star in the rest of the Matrix trilogy. The first film won 4 Academy Awards and made $463.5 million worldwide.
