The Best Of The Best: 2017 NBA’s New MVP

The 2016-2017 NBA regular season has come to an end with the last few games having been played this morning.

But before all the intense action and thrill of the playoffs begin, the NBA recognizes the best of the best, or should I say, the beast among the best.

After what seemed to be an eternity of his triple-double record not being broken, Oscar Robertson finally passed the Triple-Double Torch to Russell Westbrook before the start of the final game of the Oklahoma City Thunder for the regular season.

Westbrook managed to make 42 triple doubles within the duration of the regular season, surpassing the previous record of 41.

Robertson recognized the incredible performance of Westbrook and considered it as historic. He further expressed his adoration of Westbrook’s accomplishment when he started chanting “MVP”.

Although Westbrook has already achieved an amazing feat with this triple-double award, winning the MVP race will still be a tedious task, having to go against former NBA champions, such as LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard, and his former teammate, James Harden.

Maybe going after the MVP award is how he deals with the heartbreak he has experienced after his buddy Kevin Durant left for the Golden State Warriors.

Will Westbrook continue his feat this Playoffs and win MVP? Tell us in the comments!
