A Taste of Greece in Quezon City – The New Home of Greeka Kouzina

Now, for the main courses. We had huge, huge servings of meat! Their main dishes are good for sharing for 2-3 persons. We had Roast Lamb, Beef Souvlaki, Pork Chop and  Grilled Chicken. Their meat is completely guilt-free, too, since they cook it the healthy way (by roasting or grilling it and using olive oil). This ensures that you can devour one dish after another sans the guilt. Their signature dips are what the regulars keep coming back for, though. Apparently, they are known to be the best in town.

These dishes come with free sidings of your choice, too (yay!). We had their bestselling Moussaka, and it is unarguably understandable why it became their bestseller. It’s light and easy on the stomach with the combination of eggplant, ground beef, cheese and egg. Definitely tops my list of must-trys. Our other sidings were Shrimp Arugula Pasta (cooked with tomatoes), Arugula Pasta (another favorite; you will know it’s really healthy with every forkful) and the Spinach Rice.

Even though we had big helpings at our feast, we still had room for dessert! No meal at Greeka Kouzina would be complete without the Baklava, after all, which is a mixture of chopped nuts (pistachios, walnuts and cashews) in phyllo bread with yogurt topping. It’s sinful yet un-sinful at the same time – the perfect choice to cap off our lunch.

After eating, we got to talk to some of their staff members to know a little bit more about this resto, as well. Apparently, the demand for their offerings made them decide to reach out to their loyal following in Quezon City and make Greeka Kouzina more accessible to them. We were surprised to know that Greeka Kouzina is actually owned by a Chinese man who studied about Greek food and eventually turned this into his business. The place is always packed during weekend evenings, though, so make sure you go early or make reservations beforehand.
