‘The Haunting of Hill House’ Season 2 Will Be Out This 2020

As the COVID-19 pandemic sweeps through the globe we’ve seen the world come to a still. With various media productions being halted in the meantime, several projects have been indefinitely postponed. Thankfully, the second season of The Haunting of Hill House is not one of those.

Mike Flanagan, the series’ director, tweeted last February that they were able to wrap shooting for the show before the shutdown. This means that The Haunting of Bly Manor is right on track for its scheduled premiere.

Flanagan even reassured viewers through Twitter last April 22. He said that things are “still on schedule” with post-production carrying on from home. This gives him reason to believe that Netflix will premiere the show as originally intended, though no specific release date was given.

People seem to be of the opinion that the show will premiere sometime this fall, most likely in October. This is because the first season was released on the streaming site in October of 2018 and it makes for a timely drop for the spooky season. Of course, this is all speculation and we’re still waiting for Netflix to confirm a date.

What we do know about this new season is that it’s not exactly a sequel to the first. It is, instead, a new chapter in the horror anthology based on Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw. The 1898 tale follows a governess caring for 2 children as she becomes convinced the estate grounds are haunted.

Henry Thomas, Victoria Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Kate Siegel will be returning for the second season in new roles.
