I love Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s Side to Side. Aside from the kind of racy lyrics (we all know what this song really is about, right?), I think it’s a really catchy song.
But here’s an interesting take on the pop song. Youtube channel PostmodernJukebox, a channel that turns popular songs into more classic-sounding remakes, posted a cover of Side to Side, but 70s soul inspired. Didn’t think that could work? Well this might change your mind. The cover is performed by DeAndre Brackensic. The version is slower and with more piano and mellow drums. Just hand me a glass of whisky and I can almost imagine myself in a jazz bar somewhere downtown in a city lit by bright lights.
