Make-A-Wish Philippines Calls on WishMakers to Help Bring Back Joy to Children With Critical Illnesses

April is World Wish Month, a commemoration of the humble beginnings of Make-A-Wish Foundation, when the first WishMakers worked together to grant the wish of a child battling leukemia in Arizona in 1980. It is a time when the organization honors its founders, along with hundreds of WishMakers who support its mission of granting wishes of children with critical illnesses, and calls on for more WishMakers as its work goes on worldwide.

Make-A-Wish Philippines, the local affiliate of Make-A-Wish International, in collaboration with Blogapalooza, invites you to be a WishMaker through “Fundraise For Wishes: World Wish Month Challenge”. From April 1 to April 25, several content creators will take on the challenge of becoming Wish Ambassadors to encourage more WishMakers to donate and help bring back joy to children who need it the most.

For children with critical illnesses, growing up is distinctly different due to their diagnoses and the demanding treatments they endure. A wish-come-true helps bring back children’s sense of normalcy and provides uplifting experiences that bring back the joy of childhood.
Several content creators from Blogapalooza – including Macoy Dubs, Abby Tabladillo (Mommy Abby), Maite Cruz (Mommy Maite), Chef Gelo Guison, and Ace Gapuz – will lead the online fundraising via their respective social media platforms. The campaign will culminate in a wish-granting event organized by the foundation and its volunteers on April 28.

The global Make-A-Wish community looks forward to celebrating its 44th year of transforming the lives of children with critical illnesses. But we can do nothing without WishMakers. Be a WishMaker and help us bring back joy to brave wish kids this World Wish Month.
