In such a fast paced and tech-driven world, we seem to appreciate more these subtle yet significant instances where we can be transported back to our childhood by mementos and stories of yesterdays past. As we look back, we remember the delightful sound of the typewriter’s keys and the taste of munching on one too many Chocnut and Tarzan sweets, and the feeling of satisfaction after beating someone in a game of ‘Sungka.’
On March 25th take a trip down memory lane at Warehouse Eight Makati from 11 am to 9 pm. Enjoy a whole day affair of nostalgia and love for everything antique and vintage in “Istorya,” an appreciation fair for old Filipino stories and vintage goods.
Warehouse Eight, a coworking and events space in the artist’s compound of La Fuerza has always had the knack for hosting and creating meaningful experiences. This time around, in collaboration with The Curious Artisan, the creator of the first Filipino-made calligraphy oblique holder crafted from locally sourced materials like Kamagong (Ironwood) and mother of pearl sea shells. Curiosity is what fuels The Curious Artisan’s creativity and passion for all things rich in heritage, which is what started her collection of both local and international antiques.
Joining forces, they have created Istorya, an appreciation fair that aims to bridge the gap between old and new collectors. A platform to develop and nurture a growing interest in our past. There will be workshops, live demonstrations, casual film screenings, local delicacies and a curated group of authentic antique vendors. Revel in the extensive collections of vintage cameras, typewriters, ornaments, vinyl & turntables, stamps and stationary and more will be sold during the event.
