Animator Makiko Futaki, known for working on some of the biggest hits of Studio Ghibli, has died at 57 years old. There is no specific news of how she died, but it is said that she died of a sickness in a hospital in Tokyo.
We tried searching the Internet for photos of Futaki, but it seems that she was a very private person. We hope she rests in peace. Thank you for the beautiful animations, Makiko.
Some of the movies that Futaki worked on include Princess Mononoke and Howl’s Moving Castle. Her latest film credit is for When Marnie Was There.
