In an Instagram story on September 22, Sophia shared that her heart is with the Filipino people as they clamored to put an end to corruption amid anomalous flood control projects and misuse of government funds, among others.

“My heart is with my people. We all deserve a future built on trust, integrity, and hope. Para sa ating bansa, at para sa sambayanang Pilipino (For our country and for our countrymen), we must always strive for what is just and fair,” she wrote.
“We dream of a Philippines free from corruption, where accountability and compassion guide us forward,” she added.
She also shared that even if she wasn’t present in the September 21 protests, she stands with the Filipino people.
“The voice of the Filipino people is powerful and unshakable. Even if I cannot be present in today’s rallies, I am listening, I am aware, and I stand with you,” she concluded her post.
Sophia Laforteza is part of the popular global girl group KATSEYE, where she proudly represents the Philippines. The group is set to make its Coachella debut on April 10 and 17, 2026, with Sabrina Carpenter headlining and BINI also included in the star-studded lineup.
