The Philippine archipelago is world renowned for it’s natural beauty and scenic wonders. Tourists from all over the world flock our pristine beaches and natural habitats. While touring the country, however, one must not forget to visit the vibrant capital city of Manila and see what the metro has to offer.
When in Manila, there is a great many things that could be seen, done, and experienced. But, after all the adventures in the urban jungle, we all need to rest and unwind.
For tourists and city-dwellers alike, the Sofitel Philippine Plaza welcomes with an experience unlike any other– the comforts of home wrapped in a first class package. Whether you travelled a thousand miles to our beautiful city, or just a thousand feet, a local itching to take a break from reality, Sofitel is the place to experience.
Last week, I had devised a faux-cation for myself. I decided to take a mini break and where better to have it than Manila’s premiere 5 star resort hotel.
Sofitel Philippine Plaza and the Club Millesime Room
Sofitel’s check in is at 2:00 p.m. but because of work, I arrived at around 5 in the afternoon. My mother and I were met with a warm reception at the lobby and a very pleasant surprise. We were told that we were the hotel’s “Guest of the Day” and that our rooms were upgraded to the 10th floor, their exclusive Club Millesime. We were then ushered to our room:
Wine, fruits, and a personalized note awaited us.
Sofitel’s signature MyBed, the comfiest mattress and pillows you could change to your liking.
A clean, beautiful bathroom is always telling of how an establishment is ran.
In this this bathroom, my favorite feature is the rain shower visible below from the room. (And that’s my mom!)
These Club rooms are equipped with a 32 inch LCD TV with cable, a work desk, a refrigerator with a mini bar, and even internet services. Let’s not forget the beautiful fresh flowers in the room! The management’s attention to detail was exquisite.
The best part of the room, however, isn’t what was in the room, but rather what was waiting outside: a breathtaking view of the bay and the pool area below.
Sofitel: a luxury hotel in Manila
Can you tell that I was already enjoying myself?
