“Goin’ Bulilit” alumni Sharlene San Pedro recently responded to the allegations of “bullying” that former co-star Alexa Ilacad was pushing on her. During an interview with ABS-CBN News’ MJ Felipe she shared that she chose to initially stay silent on the issue in order to keep bad press away from Alexa’s then-upcoming movie. However, Sharlene is now speaking up because enough time has passed.

Alexa previously claimed during a press conference for her movie, “Santigwar”, that Sharlene and the rest of their group had ganged up on her by picking fights on social media. To this, Sharlene responded that “Ang hirap kasi ang ginamit niyang term is bullying.” [It’s difficult because the term she used is ‘bullying’.]
Sharlene continued with the reasoning that she would never engage in bullying because her brother had also been bullied in school before. She explained that she would not be able to do that to anyone else and was largely surprised when she first heard that Alexa had called her a bully.
On Alexa’s sentiment of surprise at being treated like that by a friend Sharlene replied: “Para po sa akin, if she really thought we were friends [ay] sana lumapit siya sa akin, sana cinlear niya po sa akin.” [For me, if she really thought we were friends then I wish she approached me, I wish she cleared it up with me.]
Sharlene alludes to the instance of “bullying” simply being a misunderstanding, as it took place during the time that Alexa was at odds with Nash Aguas. “Ang alam ko kaya siya nagtatampo sa akin kasi lagi kong kasama si Nash at lagi kong kausap si Nash, nu’ng naghiwalay sila, si Nash ay laging tumatawag sa akin. Alam mo naman ‘yung kaibigan mong brokenhearted, ‘pag ganun ay kailangan ng kausap,” she says.
[What I know is that she was upset with me because I was always with Nash at the time or talking to him, when they split up Nash was always the one calling me. You know how it is when your friend is brokenhearted, they just need someone to talk to.]
She suggests that Alexa got the wrong idea and perhaps felt that Sharlene was siding with Nash when she was only trying to balance both friends. Sharlene defends that she tried to make things right with Alexa and set things straights. “I approached her many times, kung bibilangan, tatlong beses ko siyang in-approach pero di pa siya ready to make amends,” she reveals.
