Here’s a treat to all fans of the Pinoy music scene: indie film “Rakenrol” directed by Quark Henares is coming to Netflix!
Fans were quick to spot the announcement of its release date on the global streaming platform and shared their excitement online. Not long after, Quark confirmed the news on his Twitter account.

This coming-of-age movie, which premiered in 2011, follows two aspiring musicians, Odie (Jason Abalos) and his childhood friend and secret crush Irene (Glaiza de Castro), who eventually form a band. Along with drummer Junfour (Alwyn Uytingco) and guitarist Mo (Ketchup Eusebio), the group soon makes their mark in the underground music scene, earning the attention of a cocky lead singer of a popular band.
“Rakenrol” is filled with laughs, heartache, tenderness, and, best of all, some of the greatest Filipino music in existence. This is definitely a movie you should add to your “must-watch” list, whether or not you’re a lover of Pinoy rock and roll!
