Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have maintained a low profile after leaving their senior royal roles and moving to Los Angeles (LA).

While keeping a low profile, the couple quietly sneaked out and handed out food to people in LA who are in need of help due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They volunteered via Project Angel Food, a Los Angeles nonprofit that prepares and delivers medically tailored meals to chronically ill people.

The two wore protective gear such as N95 masks and gloves. They provided a week’s worth of perishable meals and three weeks’ worth of shelf-stable foods to 20 of the charity’s clients last week.

Project Angel Food caters mostly individuals who are too sick to leave their homes to buy food. Their client base has quickly increased due to the coronavirus pandemic. The volume of calls is up to 70 per day, which has overwhelmed drivers tasked with delivery.

This was where the couple stepped in. They volunteered twice already, including Easter Sunday, to drop off food (while maintaining social distancing, of course).

Project Angel Food was founded during the height of the AIDS crisis in 1989 to provide food and connection to those suffering from the disease and living in fear. Since then, the organization has gone on to serve millions of people suffering from a wide range of life-threatening illnesses.
