President Duterte mentioned that the government is “inclined” to extend the lockdown up to April 30.

“We are inclined to extend the lockdown up to April 30. Tignan natin after that [We will see after that],” he said.

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles shared the sentiment when previously speaking on the subject last April 4.

“It is hard to announce normalcy just to go back to another lockdown,” Nograles explained. “There is a huge possibility that the quarantine will be extended for 15 to 20 days because the number of cases is still rising.”

Luzon’s lockdown began last March 17 while Metro Manila, the country’s capital, has been on lockdown since March 15. The lockdown was initially scheduled to end on April 12.
