Since the Taal volcano eruption on Sunday, going around on social media is the story about Mayon Volcano being on Alert Level 2.

This story, although not new, is causing some people to panic. Mayon Volcano has been on Alert Level 2 since March 2018. It has not been changed yet since then, even after Taal spewed ash on Sunday, January 12.

So, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS-DOST) set the story straight through a Facebook post.
