Ah, petitions. There are so many of them going around lately, and a lot of them are… strange. One recent petition that has been going viral is one that is urging the Marvel Cinematic Universe to cast Danny DeVito in the role of Wolverine. This comes after the many, many posts that comic book fans have been making on getting a shorter Wolverine once a new Wolverine is cast since comic book Wolverine is only 5’3″ and Hugh Jackman is a whole foot taller than that.
In the petition, reasons for Danny DeVito to be cast state that “his height is a lot closer to the comic books portrayal of Wolverine with Danny being 4’10” and Wolverine 5’3″. Also, “we all saw Danny’s portrayal of the Trashman, so we know he is fully capable of fighting, and that he is not afraid when things get dirty!
” So far, the petition (which is obviously just a joke, in case you didn’t get that) already has more than 30,000 signatures. You can check out the petition here (and sign it if you’d like).
Although Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has said that it might take a while for the X-Men to make it into the MCU, it seems that a lot of fans cannot wait for the once separate cinematic worlds to merge.

For now, let’s look forward to the upcoming X-Men movie ‘Dark Phoenix’, which will be out in cinemas this June 2019.
