Mayor Lino Cayetano issued a “last and final warning” to residents who are doing outdoor fitness and other leisure activities in Taguig City.

This was announced on a Facebook post on I Love Taguig page.

“Mayor Lino Cayetano warns residents of Bonifacio Global City and visitors who insist on doing outdoor fitness and leisure activities that they would be apprehended for violating Taguig City’s guidelines during the enhanced community quarantine,” the post reads.

“Our front-liners are working hard to keep you safe,” the mayor said. “When you evade the rules of the ECQ, you not only endanger yourselves but others also. You also take time and valuable resources from areas where they are most needed.”

Mayor Lino cautioned violators that this will be their last and final warning. Authorities will not hesitate to arrest violators next time around.

As of this writing, Philippine National Police officers in Taguig have arrested and charged over 15 ECQ violators in BGC, including foreigners. Throughout the city, authorities have apprehended more than 500 violators as of today. The same measures will be taken for anyone else who violates the guidelines.

The mayor also reminded building managers and their security teams that they “are tasked to help implement the rules of the ECQ.”

“BGC has 30 confirmed COVID-19 infections but I am confident that if they fully participate in their comprehensive approach in handling the virus, we can contain its spread. We have been doing extensive contact tracing, disinfection and containment in BGC and rest of Taguig, but we need citizens to cooperate,” Mayor Lino said.
