People confuse Venezuela for Valenzuela, Mayor Gatchalian is low-key shookt!

Earlier today, ABS-CBN News posted a tweet that got people mixing up Venezuela (a country in South America with diverse natural attractions and popular for winning many beauty pageant crowns) and Valenzuela (a city located north of Metro Manila).

Since there is still enhanced community quarantine in the whole Luzon and select locations in Visayas and Mindanao, people were dumbfounded when they saw the tweet below.

It seems that in Venezuela, there are still mass gatherings held despite the nationwide quarantine imposed there. In the Philippines, mass gatherings are not allowed and almost everyone is encouraged to stay home while we fight the spread of the new coronavirus.

Concerned citizens tried to get Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian’s attention, thinking that the procession filled with crowds of people is held in his city.

The city boss of Valenzuela humored people and clarified that he isn’t the leader of Venezuela.

Okay, so there it is. Mayor Gatchalian has already set the record straight. 🙂
